App Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
This policy covers the Wake iPhone app. It does not cover purchases made in the wakealarm.dk shop — that is covered by our shop privacy policy.
Who we are
Wake is operated by Giig ApS, Holmbladsvænge 7, 4. th., 2300 Copenhagen S, Denmark. CVR 44219875. We are the data controller for the data described here.
You can reach us at support@wakealarm.dk.
The short version
- We do not track you, show you ads, or use any third-party analytics.
- We never sell or share your data with anyone for their own purposes.
- We cannot see which apps you block. iOS does not tell us, and nothing identifying them ever leaves your phone.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time, without asking us.
What we store on our servers
Wake keeps your alarms, schedules, and settings on your phone. A smaller set of data is stored on our servers so your history survives losing or replacing your phone. That is all of it:
Your account
Your email address and your name. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever receive Apple's private relay address, not your real one.
Your goals and setup answers
Your daily wake-up time, your screen-time limit in minutes, and the answers you gave during setup: your age band, what you said you struggle with, roughly how much you use your phone, your screen-time goal, your bedtime and wake time, and how long apps stay blocked after an alarm.
Your daily history
For each day: the date, your wake-up goal that day, whether you met it, your screen-time limit that day, and whether you stayed under it.
Your alarms
For each alarm that went off: when it was due, when it was resolved, whether it ended by scanning your Wake or by unlocking your phone, and how many backup alarms fired.
What we never collect
- The apps you block. iOS's Screen Time framework gives Wake an opaque token for each app you choose. It is not a name and not an identifier we can look up — Apple designed it so that we cannot tell which apps you picked. Those tokens stay on your phone.
- How you use other apps. We receive a number of minutes and whether you stayed under your limit. Never what you were doing.
- Your location, contacts, photos, health data, or messages.
- Any advertising identifier. Wake does not ask for tracking permission because it has nothing to track you with.
Support requests
If you write to us from inside the app, we receive your message along with your name and email, your app version and build, your iOS version, your iPhone model, whether you granted Screen Time and alarm permissions, how many Wake devices you have paired, and whether your apps are currently blocked.
A diagnostics log is attached. It is a record of what the app itself did — alarms scheduling, blocks starting and lifting, errors — covering the last 48 hours. It contains no app names and no message content. Wake keeps this log on your phone for 48 hours and it is only transmitted when you choose to send a support request.
Purchases
Skips are bought through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment itself, and neither we nor RevenueCat ever see your card details.
We use RevenueCat to keep track of how many skips you have bought and how many you have left. This is necessary because the App Store does not itself remember consumable purchases if you replace or reset your phone. RevenueCat receives your account identifier and your purchase history, but not your name or your email.
Who processes data for us
- Supabase — account sign-in and the database holding everything above. Hosted in eu-north-1 (Stockholm), inside the EU.
- RevenueCat — your skip balance and the purchases behind it. United States.
- Apple — the payment itself, and Sign in with Apple if you use it.
RevenueCat processes data in the United States. That transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Why we are allowed to hold this
Your account, goals, history, and purchases are processed to provide the service you signed up for (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) — performance of a contract). Support requests and diagnostics are processed on our legitimate interest in answering you and fixing the app (Article 6(1)(f)).
How long we keep it
Your account data and history are kept until you delete your account. The diagnostics log on your phone is discarded after 48 hours. Support tickets are kept for two years so we can follow up.
Deleting your account
Open Wake, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your sign-in, your goals and setup answers, your daily history, your alarm history, and your support tickets. It is immediate and it cannot be undone. You do not need to contact us and we cannot restore it afterwards.
Deleting the app without deleting your account leaves your history on our servers, so that reinstalling restores it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. Write to support@wakealarm.dk and we will answer within one month.
If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to Datatilsynet, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark (datatilsynet.dk).
Children
Wake is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
